Are you maintaining your dryer vent properly? Here are some helpful tips to keep your dryer vents clean and your home safe!

  • Ductwork joints shall be secured with metal tape
  • Concealed ducts must be rigid metal, galvanized or aluminum
  • Outside you should have a working damper and screen
  • Use metal connectors between the unit & the exhaust duct
  • Exhaust systems must be independent & end outdoors
  • Ducts must be at least 4″ in diameter
  • Pipe connections in same direction as airflow
  • Symptoms of a clogged dryer vent include moisture in the laundry room and clothes taking greater then 45 minutes to dry
